Megan Allen, director of projects and programs for the Innovation District, oversees and coordinates the execution of strategic activities to promote interactions between individuals, entrepreneurs, investors, students, researchers, institutions, and businesses involved across the full spectrum of innovation activity. In her role, she supports the District’s president and CEO in the mission of driving Oklahoma City’s innovation economy.
Prior to joining the Innovation District, Allen served over 15 years in Oklahoma’s Higher Education system, with experience in strategic planning, marketing, and program management in higher education and public policy. Most recently, Allen served as Director of MBA Admissions and Recruiting for the University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business, located in the heart of the Innovation District. Allen also spent nearly a decade working with military and veteran populations in Oklahoma and across the nation, helping them pursue graduate education opportunities. She earned both her Bachelor of Musical Arts and Master of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
Allen is an active member of Oklahoma City’s non-profit community, serving as Chair of the Central and Southwest American Red Cross Board of Directors. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors for the Arts Council of Oklahoma City and was a founding member of Norman Next, Norman’s network of young professionals. She is also an active professional jazz musician, performing in two OKC-based jazz groups.
