MAPS 4 Innovation Hall and The Tower at Convergence Celebrate Completion with Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City Innovation District (OKCID), Gardner Tanenbaum Holdings, and Robinson Park proudly hosted a MAPS 4 ribbon cutting ceremony for The Tower at Convergence and Innovation Hall on January 16, 2025. This milestone marks the completion of Phase 1 of the Convergence Development and the first completed MAPS 4 building, Innovation Hall.
The ceremony kicked off at The Tower at Convergence with remarks from distinguished speakers, including:
Mayor David Holt, who shared the critical role MAPS 4 had on Innovation Hall, making every resident in Oklahoma City an “investor” in this project.
Jeff Seymour, CEO of OKCID, offered insights into the transformative economic impact of this project for both industry and community.
Richard Tanenbaum, owner of Gardner Tanenbaum Holdings, co-developer of the development, cornerstone of this project and visionary leader and supporter of Oklahoma City.
Mark Beffort, CEO of Robinson Park, co-developer of the development, gave an emotional speech highlighting the significant role this development will play in proving better jobs for all Oklahomans.
The program was led by Megan Gelmers of Robinson Park, whose own work has been an integral part of the success of this project.
Following the ribbon cutting, guests were invited to Innovation Hall for champagne and networking. Attendees experienced firsthand why Seymour often refers to the hall as “the living room” of the district, with its welcoming atmosphere and versatile spaces.
On continuing progress within the district, Seymour emphasized the importance of intentionally “thinking about economic mobility, building the economy of the future, and equipping our residents to participate in that economy.”
This event marked a new chapter for Oklahoma City, showcasing a commitment to growth, community, and innovation.
About the Convergence Development
Innovation Hall
Innovation Hall is funded through MAPS 4 and operated by the Oklahoma City Innovation District. Designed to serve as a hub for meetings, events, and community engagement, the hall features a versatile event space and meeting rooms available for rent, while the public can access the lobby and the onsite Le Bon Café.
BioTC
A key feature of Innovation Hall is BioTC, a cutting-edge training facility designed to address the growing demand for a skilled workforce in the biopharmaceutical industry. The lab offers a fast-track training model, providing participants with hands-on training and certification in as little as 2-3 weeks—an accomplishment that would typically take up to 6 months in a standard setting. The Tower at Convergence
Standing at eight stories and encompassing 230,000 square feet, The Tower at Convergence is designed to house some of the most influential names in aerospace, defense, and banking. Among the tower’s key tenants are:
Tinker Air Force Base’s 76th Software Engineering Group, marking Tinker’s first off-base location.
When reflecting on Convergence Tower and the idea that was set forth about a decade ago for the district, Mayor David Holt proudly remarked, “Things that are happening here in this building are very much aligned with the vision that we have as a community for the Innovation District,” emphasizing how The Tower’s tenants mirror the district’s emphasis on creating collaborative partnerships to drive growth in Oklahoma’s key industries.
Other key features include: Stiles Park, Oklahoma City’s oldest park, now re-activated for public use, an amphitheater for outdoor gatherings, and pedestrian walkway which all contribute to the connectivity of the entire development.
